Fujinon Inteligent Colour Enhancement - FICE™

This ground-breaking approach to high-resolution colour enhancement uses a sophisticated algorithm to distinguish separate wavelengths to obtain contrasted images for better delineation of surface pathology.

In the past, the best way to identify blood vessels and small surface details was via chromoendoscopy - the use of vital permanent stains to reveal abnormal mucosa. The concept behind FICE is to perform a virtual chromoendoscopy using the manipulation of light to simulate the chromoendoscopy stain without the mess and permanent marking.

FICE is a more intuitive technique than using optical filters which lack the flexibility to change or customize spectral features, and with each wavelength being adjustable in 5-nm increments the viewing possibilities are vast.
