Carsen Medical, Inc. Introduces New 500 Series High Definition Endoscopy Platform From Fujinon
Improved optics and ergonomics delivering 1080i High Definition Endoscopy in Canadian Hospitals and Clinics
Markham, ON May 23, 2008 - Carsen Medical Inc., has announced the availability of Fujinon's 500 series High Definition Endoscopy platform for the Canadian medical community. The best example of forward looking optical technology coupled with the most modern digital image processing, the Fujinon 500 series represent state-of-the-art endoscopic engineering and design.
Fujinon, along with its multi-billion dollar parent company Fujifilm, is leading the way for modern endoscopy practices by offering a versatile and customizable platform featuring unrivalled image clarity including unique designs, such as DBE double balloon enteroscopy, that aren't available with any other manufacturer.
The new 500 series platform includes an update of Fujinon's therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopes. Also, redesigns of Fujinon's video processors are now supporting both DVI and HD-SDI high definition signals producing a resolution up to 1080i. FICE (Fuji Intelligent Colour Enhancement) is a software driven spectral estimation technology that is now standard on the new EPX 4400HD video processor. This ground-breaking multi-band image enhancement mimics the practice of choromoendoscopy by applying an advanced algorithm to the spectrum of light to isolate or enhance certain bandwidths which can make morphology easier to identify and diagnose. FICE is a technology that is gaining clinical acceptance worldwide and, unlike a fixed filter, provides the physician with the tools to customize these images on the fly.
